Kiran Rao is out with the latest postcard to promote DHOBI GHAT. She says that she gave old cameras and other materials to her characters.

Kiran writes, 'I wrote the screenplay of DHOBHI GHAT with the idea of capturing the multiple cities within Mumbai, of getting under the layer of the city. So I armed my characters with different lenses and tools- an old Leica M6 still camera, an amateur video camera, a canvas and paints- to be able to explore the city through their individual perspectives.'

CHECK OUT: Wanted to show Mumbai in all its vibrance

She further adds, 'These multiple formats helped me build this multiplicity of experience and perception, get varying visual textures, and also allowed me to have more fun playing with different mediums!'

Well, we are sure all her unique ideas must have reflected on the big screen.
