The coming Friday will see a very interesting clash as Anees Baazmee's NO PROBLEM is all set to take on the latest offering from the Yash Raj stable, BAND BAAJA BAARAAT. Certainly the multi-starrer comic caper, NO PROBLEM, appears to be clear favourite at this point of time, as far as the opening goes but we would like to stick out our neck and pick BAND BAAJA BAARAAT as the dark horse due to its popular music and unconventional yet identifiable theme.
BAND BAAJA BAARAT and NO PROBLEM
Last Friday saw three releases in the form of Ashutosh Gowariker's KHELEIN HUM JEE JAAN SEY, the RGV directed RAKHT CHARITRA 2 and the relatively lesser known PHAS GAYA RE OBAMA. Though the Abhishek-Deepika starrer was not expected to set the box-office on fire but the horrific start and poor weekend of the historical has shocked the trade. KHELEIN HUM JEE JAAN SEY is also washout in the Overseas grossing just £14,417 from UK during the opening weekend (3-5 December).
On the other hand RAKHT CHARITRA 2 was never expected to do well (as it was the sequel of a flop film) and that is what happened. The last release of the week, Subhash Kapoor's PHAS GAYA RE OBAMA fared the best and showed better legs than its more reputed release partners. However its limited release means that it won't achieve anything significant.
