It seems like Ajay Devgn has definitely lost all his inhibitions when it comes to slapstick comedies. For someone like him who had apparently declared more than a decade back that he would never be seen in mindless comedies, it seems like Ajay is now reveling comic outings now with first GOLMAAL 3 and now DIL TOH BACCHA HAI JI.
"See, first and foremost DIL TOH BACCHA HAI JI is not a slapstick comedy. Secondly, it is a light hearted film with nice emotions as well. The film is about characters who belong to today and tells about the problems faced by youth. Yes, Madhur's films have been dark in the past but this one is far more hilarious. Having said that, the humour here too has a touch of reality to it. By no means is it mindless or noisy."
But how about him making some noise about his own work? When all top actors, whether on their own or through their media insiders, make the world aware about their achievements, why does he continue to be relatively low profile?
Laughs Ajay, "When I look back at my films during last 20 years, I too am amazed to see that I have been delivering successes every year. Honestly, I hadn't made a conscious effort to know this about me earlier but now I know. Still, I don't like making noises.
Doesn't he think that the tag of being 'under rated' has stuck to him for long despite him being so consistent at the box office?
"Of course I am content with what I know about myself but I guess that's good enough for me", says Ajay, "Yes, to promote my films, main ab pehle se thoda zyaada bolne laga hoon. I have decided to be a little more open and media savvy about my films. Still, mujhe apne baare mein chillane nahi aata. Thank goodness for that. I have never done that before and I don't see myself doing so in future as well."
