The infamous exclusive contracts are passé. Till a few years back, it was a norm for actors and other technicians to be signed for three film contracts by leading film production houses, most notable being Yash Raj Films. However, this has changed over the period of time with actors being free to work in outside production houses as well due to non-exclusive clause coming into play.
On the same lines, Ranveer Singh, the debutant who has impressed one and all with his spirited and natural act in BAND BAAJA BAARAAT is a free man as well. Though one would have expected that after getting a break with this Yash Raj Films' offering, he would be bound to them for some good time ahead, this is not really the case. He is in fact free to work in outside production houses as well and could well be signing one such film soon.
Confirms Ranveer, "Yes, I do have a three film contract with Yash Raj Films. However, it is non-exclusive. This means that while I have a commitment to do three films with them, I can work in other films also in the meanwhile. I don't have to necessarily make three films with YRF in a row. Having said that, it is fantastic that I am doing films with them. After all how many youngsters, especially the ones who don't come with any Bollywood backing, get such a chance?"
Well, Anushka Sharma is one such youngster - another Yash Raj Films discovery - who has just concluded her three film contract with the production house with RAB NE BANA DI JODI and BADMAASH COMPANY being her earlier releases. Currently, the duo is on an intense post release promotional drive of their romcom which has thrown a pleasant surprise at the box office.
