After releasing his small film KAJRAARE straight on DVD and gearing up for release of two major biggies in the first half of 2011, PATIALA HOUSE (February) and READY (May), one can clearly sense that Bhushan's philosophy is more tilted towards making big films with big stars as they appear more viable.
Is that indeed a conscious decision on his part, reason being that one doesn't see Bhushan and his company T-Series launching any small film with upcoming stars?
"Absolutely, that's a valid observation", says Bhushan promptly who has also kept plans for his small film A LOVE ISSSHTORY (featuring Himesh Reshammiya) aside, "We are working towards that mode only where we make big films with reputed stars. Still, I would reiterate that the budget has to be realistic. Big doesn't necessarily mean expensive; one has to check the budget as well and most importantly the script."
For someone who started off with a humble affair like TUM BIN a decade back, Bhushan is in no hurry to launch multiple projects and is happy to concentrate on PATIALA HOUSE (Akshay Kumar) and READY (Salman).
"I have no intentions of making half a dozen announcements just for the sake of it", he continues, "In any case I don't think an independent producer can make more than three films in a year. I see that some people make such announcements all the time. With corporate houses it is still possible but not when it comes to independent producers. It's better to make few films with right subjects and right budget so that they are widely accepted."
He goes on to have the final word, "In my life I won't make films just to be in the numbers game or earn big money."
