UTV ignites heat for CHANCE PE DANCE

With less than a week to go for the release of the film, things are indeed heating up for CHANCE PE DANCE. While an array of song and dance numbers have already been unveiled, there is an entire promotional drive chalked out till the film's release. Public appearances, international visits, brand tie ups, in film advertisements - a lot is expected to happen during next few days which should heat the film to an optimum scale.

"There are various events planned for the film and would involve both Shahid and Genelia", confirms Siddharth Roy Kapur, CEO UTV Motion Pictures, "Other than Mumbai and other cities in India, they would be travelling to London and Dubai to create further awareness about the film. Moreover, there are quite a few brands with which we have tied and they too have started their own advertisements. Since the film has quite a lot of music and dance in it, we had to be doubly sure that all of this is presented to the target audiences though the well designed promos. Thankfully, public comments on this aspect have been all around positive as well."

One such event was the now-famous 'car naama' where both Shahid and Genelia stationed themselves at a prominent studio in Mumbai to spend an entire night in a car. That's not all as they also ate vada-pav along with cutting chai while treating visitors with the same.

As is a known fact, this Ken Ghosh directed film revolves around the trials and tribulations of a young man (Shahid) who tries his luck in Mumbai to be an actor one day. During his struggle period he lives in a car, eats 'vada pav' available on streets and thrives on 'cutting chai'. In order to bring this aspect in front of audiences, albeit on a lighter note, this publicity jig was executed where Shahid and Genelia literally lived in a car from midnight till 7:00 AM in the morning. In fact early in the morning, they also added 'bun maska' to the menu.

Guess marketing and promotion of Bollywood films is getting smarter, interesting, exciting and a lot more fun with every passing year. In 2008, Aamir Khan went to streets and became a barber by giving 'aam junta' some cool GHAJINI haircut. In 2009 he started throwing 'clues' in a 'catch me if you can' game across different parts of the country. Just a few days back Fardeen Khan became a groom all over again to promote his DULHA MIL GAYA. And now Shahid Kapoor and Genelia D'Souza too did their bit for CHANCE PE DANCE.
