It is by now well known that Deepika Padukone is essaying the role of a young revolutionary in Ashutosh Gowariker's period film, KHELEIN HUM JEE JAAN SE, opposite Abhishek Bachchan.
The director, a stickler for perfection, is leaving no stone unturned in his effort to make a good film and a step in that direction has already been achieved. Lead actress Deepika, who plays Kalpana, an eighteen year old revolutionary in the film, is being addressed to by her screen name, not only by Ashutosh but also by unit members.
In fact, all present on the sets have been instructed to call Deepika by her screen name so that she is able to get into the skin of the character, and Deepika too is very responsive to Kalpana. One of the crew members informs us that whenever Ashutosh or anyone else addresses Deepika by her screen name Kalpana, the actress responds promptly.
With the dedication that is prevalent on the sets of KHELEIN HUM JEE JAAN SE, even at this early stage, it is a clear indication that another historical masterpiece is on way from the LAGAAN and JODHAA AKBAR maker.
