"Sajdaa" and "Tere Naina", the two outstanding compositions from Karan Johar's upcoming MY NAME IS KHAN were discussed/disclosed by us almost one and half years back, long before anyone had heard much about the movie, let alone the soundtrack (MY NAME IS KHAN: Karan's next hit audio score!- June 16, 2008)!
Just to recall, we had said, "The first composition, "Sajda", is to be rendered by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. It is likely to be picturised as a background song when Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol get married. The other song, "Tere Naina", will be another background composition. The situation for the number is when SRK sees Kajol for the first time in the film. One understands that this particular song too will be rendered by a Pakistani singer. "The same has now been confirmed , needless to add, as mostly!
In fact, the promo of "Tere Naina", picturised on Bollywood's most loved 'jodi', Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol, has been released just a couple of days back. And if we ignore the merits of the composition for now and just concentrate on the picturisation, what is obvious is the sparkling Chemistry (Physics and Biology too!!) and magic that SRK-Kajol have been famous for over the last decade and a half is there for one and all to see.
Not only the cheeky 'chhed-chaad' aspect is visible but even the romantic vibes come across strongly making all nostalgic about DILWALE DULHANIYA LE JAYENGE and Karan's very own, KUCH KUCH HOTA HAI and KABHI KHUSHI KABHIE GHAM days.
Well, if the short promo(s) and especially "Tere Naina" are any indication, one can just imagine what impact the whole film, MY NAME IS KHAN will have. We can only say- Here's wishing for many more DDLJ and KKHH from the 'jodi' number one!
