VEER releases today and though film maker Anil Sharma has a classic and an all time blockbuster GADAR - EK PREM KATHA behind him, he says that overconfidence due to such feats can never win a battle and a story teller can never conceptualize, plan, design and execute a film thinking that one day it would turn out to be classic.

'The basic factor that one has to always keep in mind is getting the story and screenplay right; other things just follow', declares Anil Sharma, a veteran who has made a dozen films in last 30 years, 'If the story has a potential, you can go all the distance. Par agar aapki kahaani mein hi dum nahi hai to aap jitne bhi stars le aaye, kitna bhi paisa kharch kar lein, still you can never fool the audience.'

CHECK OUT: I want everyone to look at VEER positively

Talking about his formula of making a commercial entertainer, Sharma says, 'Everyone has his own way of looking at films. For me, the best way to tell a story to the audience is by getting a solid storyline, some very good music, a strong element of love, lots of grandeur and just the right dose of action. Now it's on you whether you wish to term this combination as a complete movie or a 'masala' entertainer.'

It is this feeling of 'masala' entertainment that VEER seems to be promising. 'Yes, this is certainly a mass entertainer. However, let's not call it as a classic yet. That's because films cannot be designed as classics. They become classics after they are made and gain audience approval.'
