After playing BANDIT QUEEN, actor Seema Biswas is all set to play a Naxalite in RED ALERT-THE WAR WITHIN.
"Being it a realistic movie the real problem behind naxalism is shown very closely in it. It showcases what all a farmer does to earn livelihood for himself and his family and ultimately lands up becoming a Naxalwadi when he has no options left," said Seema
She plays the role of Sarala, a well-educated women, who in order to fight against the system joins the Naxalwadi group.
But doesn't it sound similar to BANDIT QUEEN?
"No, it is not at all similar, this film is purely commercial," said Seema.
But why is that Seema is always seen serious role?
"May be the producers like my serious face, I too want to make my viewers laugh," the actor said laughing out aloud.
"But know what, filmmaker Shekhar Kapoor selected me for his BANDIT QUEEN after watching my comedy play. Never mind, I have been promised by Sanjay Leela Bhansali that he will be giving me a comic role in one of his movies," she said.
When asked to her favorite performance so far, Seema said: "Actually all the roles which I play are close to my heart. I enact it as if I'm that person. However, I loved acting in BANDIT QUEEN and KHAMOSHI."
The next projects in Seema's pipeline are BHOPAL and SOCIETY.
