Trisha is being launched in Bollywood with a biggie like KHATTA MEETHA where she has Akshay Kumar for company as a co-star and Priyadarshan as a director. For someone who has worked in over 35 films down South and won quite a few awards; one does assume that starting with 'Khatta Meetha', she would be overtly ambitious about her Hindi film career.
"To be honest, I don't have any major expectations set here nor am I aspiring for something really big", Trisha throws a shocker here. Here is the reason why. "At this point of time in my professional life when I have been around for close to a decade, all I wanted was to do something different and break away from monotony. Hindi film world is a challenge for me because it is a different audience that I am appealing to. I am selfish enough to just relish the fact that there is something new waiting for me. If this works out then well, it is great for me. I would take that as a positive", she says.
With the film up for release, one can well expect positive vibes to be coming for Trisha. Has Bollywood really woken up to her and started sending some good feelers?
"Yes, there are feelers. However, I won't say that there are offers coming in left, right or centre", says Trisha in an honest tone, "While shooting for the film in Mumbai, I have met a lot of directors and producers. Thankfully, most of them have good knowledge of the kind of roles that I have played down South. There has been quite some encouragement coming from them which leads me to believe that I may be signing more projects soon."
Well, we would certainly want that to happen once the film releases all over on 23rd July.
