It's a pleasant co-incidence that the monsoon laden concluding weeks of July have Mumbai based themes at the centre for the next two Fridays. Obviously we are referring to Priyadarshan's KHATTA MEETHA and Milan Luthria's ONCE UPON A TIME IN MUMBAAI, the last two significant Bollywood releases of this month.
For the uninitiated, both the films, KHATTA MEETHA and ONCE UPON A TIME IN MUMBAI which release on 23rd July and 30th July respectively are set in Mumbai- Maharashtra. The first film, KHATTA MEETHA is a political satire on the municipal constructions deals in India wherein the main protagonist Sachin Tichkule, essayed by Akshay Kumar comes from a small town of Maharashtra, Satara. It's Mumbai Rewind in Milan Luthria's ONCE UPON A TIME IN MUMBAAI which traces the Mumbai mafia scene in the 70's.
Here's wishing a bumper response to the two Mumbai/Maharashtra based films so that one can proudly say, 'Aamchi' Mumbai Rocks!
