Once producer Karan Johar green lighted the story idea of I HATE LUV STORYS and was in agreement with the script, debutant director Punit Malhotra knew that he had a film that would provide him a great platform to kick start his Bollywood campaign.
However, it wasn't really easy going for Punit. Confirms a source attached to the film, "After listening to the script, Imran did have reservations about what had been there in the script. He had quite a few questions and Punit too was more than willing to hear him out. Though the team can afford to look back and laugh at the entire episode, one can well imagine young Punit to have got all hassled since remarks coming from the young actor meant that there was still more work to be done before he held the megaphone."
"That's right; I did have quite a few questions around the script and Punit was happy to listen to them all and also acknowledge the points where changes were required to be made", confirms Imran for whom this is his only love story after JAANE TU YA JAANE NAA"
As it happens in most of the instances, all was quite well eventually and once the script was totally in place and per satisfaction of all, it was a happy team that started working on the film.
"With the kind of reactions that are coming in for I HATE LUV STORYS, I am sure even Punit will acknowledge and agree that the best he gave to the film is being appreciated today", smiles Imran, "What happened turned out to be best for all involved. This time around, the script was much tighter. The overall duration of the film too was just about two hours. The screenplay was literally flying and everything worked out to be just perfect."
Starring Sonam Kapoor as the female lead along with Sameer Dattani, I HATE LUV STORYS has music by Vishal-Shekhar and is all set for 2nd July release.
