It will come as surprise to many that the National Award Winning KRANTIVEER cost the producer-director Mehul Kumar just Rs.1.25 crore to make in the year 1994. Despite this the film starred frontline actors like Nana Patekar and Dimple Kapadia who were quite big stars during those says.
Cut to 2010 and its sequel, KRANTIVEER: THE REVOLUTION has cost Mehul around 7 crores to make. The reason is the glitz and glamour and good production value that is needed to make the film appealing to today's audience. What should also be taken into account is the inflation factor over the years.
However, despite the big margin of 5.75 crores, KRANTIVEER: THE REVOLUTION can still be called a medium to low budget film if we see from the point of view of the budget of the films during these times. And this should contribute in a big way towards it success at the turnstiles. The film stars newcomers and fresh talented faces along with established actors and the fact that it is a sequel to the iconic 94 film.
All said and done, we are quite sure that just like the original KRANTIVEER; its sequel too is an honest film and has its heart in the right place
