Over the last few weeks, the promotion of KRANTIVEER - THE REVOLUTION has (rightly) been centred on Jahan Bloch. Since she plays the daughter of Nana Patekar and Dimple Kapadia in this sequel to KRANTIVEER, it was but obvious to have her being the focal point of the film.
However, not many have noticed that her co-star in the film is Sameer Aftab, the actor who has been around for 5 years now. After making his debut with CHAND SA ROSHAN CHEHRA, he went on to do SUN ZARRA and a brief role in SHADOW though not with much luck. Considering the fact that the entire cast of her debut film is made of mostly newcomers, doesn't Jahan feel that she could have been better off with an established leading man rather than someone who hasn't seen much riding for him over the years gone by.
"I guess you should be asking dad (producer-director Mehul Kumar) this question because call casting decisions are his", says Jahan in a matter of fact tone.
In defense of her leading man, she goes on to add though, "See, hits or flop happen in the industry. Sameer is a fabulous actor. In any case, there are ups and downs in this industry and there is nothing which is stable. Even if Sameer had 5-6 flops behind him, I would have still wanted to work with him."
She signs off with a statement, "This is such a great film with a great director. KRANTIVEER - THE REVOLUTION stays true to its title. We are making a revolution indeed with my dad making a comeback six years after JAAGO (2004). That's an event by itself."
