Ajay has a lot to offer in months to come. With ATITHI TUM KAB JAOGE? already running in theaters, he is now gearing up for his forthcoming films like RAAJNEETI, ONCE UPON A TIME IN MUMBAI, GARAM HAWA, TOONPUR KA SUPERHERO and GOLMAAL 3, all of which are set to release this year.

Now that he has forayed into different genres of film making, it seems unbelievable that he is the same man who made an entry on a bike and created history 20 years back when his PHOOL AUR KAANTE went on to be a smash hit masala action entertainer. Really, it all seems like quite some journey for the man who admits that right through the 90s, it was the need of the situation to work in countless 'masala' flicks.

"These were the kind of films that were made in those times", says Ajay in a tad amused tone, "There had to be four action sequences, some songs and dances, a couple of emotional scenes and voila, a film was ready. As an actor you couldn't protest because everyone said that this is the only thing that worked."

He is happy though that over the years, he could afford to take a different route. "Thank goodness the audience has started challenging the film makers now. They are no more willing to take anything routine, substandard or unpredictable. You have to bring in a different flavour every time and thankfully the change has started coming in a big way now."
