HOUSEFULL has done tremendously well and while Sajid Khan feels that the film is AMAR AKBAR ANTHONY for Arjun Rampal, Riteish Deshmukh and Akshay Kumar respectively, what does the man at the hot seat himself have to say about his presence in the film? After all Akshay is a superstar while Riteish is a star in his own right. Didn't Arjun foresee too much competition coming his way?
"Now that we can see the film running in theaters, isn't it amazing to see how audience is taking each and every character back home", asks Arjun with a confident smile on his face, "Sajid has presented all of us so well in the film that I am sure nobody is feeling left out. I have worked in multi starrers before and I know how it is so difficult to justify the presence of each and every leading character. It is a big thing for everyone to see good appreciation coming his/her way but in case of HOUSEFULL, this is definitely the case. The film has turned out to be better than my expectations."
Though he is playing a South Indian in the film, there has been a conscious effort not to project his mannerisms and body language in the manner that would come across as a caricature. "There are a few nuances of being a South Indian here and there but that's about it", he says.
Taking a quick pause, Arjun continues to talk highly about the film. "If you ask me, then one has to leave aside Akshay, Riteish, Deepika, Lara, Jiah or myself and announce loud and clear that Sajid is the true hero of the movie. My belief is simple - every time a film works, it's because the leader is very clear, strong and knows what he is doing. It is always a director's film in totality and this is what happened in case of HOUSEFULL too. Sajid created such an atmosphere in the film that it turned out to be a win-win situation for all."
