HOUSEFULL has clicked at the box office in a big way and one can't help but ask the film's leading actor Akshay Kumar - Was doing this film a way of making amends for JAAN-E-MANN?. After all this was one of the many films that he had worked on with producer Sajid Nadiadwala in last decade and a half and as has been the case, it was also perhaps Sajid's only box office failure in the recent times.
"I am sorry, I don’t think anyone needs to make any amends for JAAN-E-MANN", Akshay comes with a sharp reaction here, "I loved that movie and so did Nadiadwala. We can never predict the outcome. Also, we can’t waste time over spilt milk. If either one of us had sour feelings over its failure, do you think we would have shot three films since? Of course not! If Sajid thought that I couldn’t produce him a Hit, he wouldn’t have signed me. The same holds true vice versa."
Talking about hits, the other Sajid (Khan) was always super confident that HOUSEFULL will turn out to be one of the biggest box office grossers of all times. Did Akshay share similar sentiments as well?
"I don’t think I have ever met such a confident person in my life. Sajid is not even big headed but the he has just got pure faith and confidence when it comes to films and the especially the ones which are his own. He wants to be the best filmmaker of all times and I have no doubt that he would be up there one day. As for my own judgment around the box office performance of HOUSEFULL, I am intelligent enough not to pass any. It is there for all to see on their own", winks Akshay before signing off.
