When it comes to Bollywood, Koena Mitra has been around for quite some time. However, the girl from Bengal always aspired to do a Bengali film as well. Her wait is finally over now as a prestigious Bengali film has fallen into her lap. Though details are expected to be rolled out in quick time from now, Koena is all set to make her debut in the industry which is known for its aesthetics and a sharp eye when it comes to performance.

'Yes, a Bengali director has approached me for this festival film and more or less, I would be doing this film. I had always nurtured this dream to be doing something in the Bengali films. Somehow due to my Hindi films, people see me only as someone who looks and acts a little Western. Since I would be presented in an entirely different manner in this film; I have in mind to cater to a different segment of audience as well', says Koena who in the past has come up with a sizzling act in films like APNA SAPNA MONEY MONEY and EK KHILADI EK HASEENA.

Koena assures that this Bengali film won't be an arty affair in entirety.

'This film is neither completely art nor commercial as well', says Koena, 'Also, doing Bengali movies is not that easy. The kind of work that they expect from you really belongs to top class. I don't want to fail there and this film is surely going to be a learning experience for me.'

Meanwhile, money isn't any criteria when it comes to a creative experience like the aforementioned film. 'I am doing this film just to learn', admits Koena, 'I want to challenge myself and see if I can shine. If all goes well, I would begin shooting this May.'
