HOUSEFULL has released but Akshay Kumar is not resting. Currently, he can be seen juggling between close to half a dozen films simultaneously - ACTION REPLAYY, KHATTA MEETHA, PATIALA HOUSE, TEES MAAR KHAN and THANK YOU.
Looking at the sheer volume of projects that he has in hand, it appears like he is making the most out of the situation, both creatively and monetarily. Unconfirmed reports have indicated that he was the highest paid actor in town before he decided to change his remuneration model and became a co-producer for each of his subsequent assignments. How does the entire business model work?
"My structure is that I ask for nothing today", discloses Akshay, "If my movie is a flop, I still end up getting nothing. Now that's okay. But then if my movie works, I get a lot. I know that it is a very risky choice to make but it is the one that I am willing to take. I don't like to see my producers suffer if my work fails." While Akshay maintains that everyone has the right to earn a living, what cannot be ignored though is the way he is working extra hard to earn a living. This makes him the only actor in the top league who has chosen six high profile films to keep him occupied till at least the beginning of next year. Add to that the five releases that he had last year (CHANDNI CHOWK TO CHINA, 8X10 TASVEER, KAMBAKKHT ISHQ, BLUE and DE DANA DANA) and it is crystal clear that quantity does matter for him.
"Well, everyone deserves to win at the end of a film. It's only the cast and crew, producers and filmmakers who really know what goes into making a movie. I do work on multiple films but then I also do take responsibility when it comes to performance of my films", signs off Akshay.
