Over the week gone by, he may have been stationed near the Wagah border for the shooting of 'TANU WEDS MANU'. Still, Madhavan was totally clued to what was happening in the world of cricket. To his utter disappointment, India saw a humiliating exit from T20 World Cup by not winning a single match in the Super-8 matches. Naturally, he is quite upset and can't hide his anger just as is the case with millions of Indian fans worldwide.
"I can't explain how upset I am with India's loss in the World Cup", says Maddy who has been an ardent follower of the sport, "There is one thing to loose after a fight and another to totally surrender. The way India exited from World Cup is embarrassing. It just didn't look like the kind of team which could have won. Aisa hota hai naa ki yeh team jeetne ke liye maidan mein aayi hai. Looking at India, it just didn't appear to be the case."
With such scathing comments, one can pretty much sense that Maddy is being the sounding board of many a disappointed fans who share similiar sentiments.
"Aur kya", he says in an exasperated tone, "The players were all looking so tired. From their body language it was quite visible that they were just not up for the matches. I hope this was a momentary phase. My heart breaks to see such a performance from our team. They are certainly capable of doing much better."
