Mutual admiration between Prakash Jha and his lead actor Ajay Devgn continues to grow with every passing year. So much confident is the film maker when it comes to the acting capabilities of his favourite actor that he always finds a place for him in his films.
"Uske saath maza aata hai kaam karne mein. I really enjoy working with him and same holds good vice versa", says Jha fondly about Ajay who is a regular in his films, "Not just is he a great professional, he is also a very nice human being. That gives him an extra edge."
Between 1999 and now, Prakash Jha and Ajay Devgn have worked together in four films - DIL KYA KARE (1999), GANGAAJAL (2003), APAHARAN (2005) and RAAJNEETI (2010). In the interim, Jha worked in only one film that didn't feature Ajay Devgn, RAHUL (2001), which was primarily made with newcomers and turned out to be a total washout at the box office. On the other hand GANGAAJAL and APAHARAN have not just been critically acclaimed but have also seen commercial success coming their way.
"Well, there is a huge understanding that both of us have for each other", smiles Jha who is looking forward to the release of his biggest multi starrer till date- RAAJNEETI', "He has a huge range and can do anything. No wonder, whenever I am in the process of writing a film, there is one or the other character that ends up suiting him."
A multi starrer with some of the best names in the business, RAAJNEETI releases all over on 4th June.
