Star Entertainments' RED ALERT-THE WAR WITHIN, a spellbinding human thriller on a man trapped amidst a group of Naxalites, is getting hotter by the day.

After bagging a five star rating from German critics and the Director's Vision Award at the Stuttgart Film Festival 09, the film had its North American red carpet premiere at the prestigious South Asian International Film Festival in New York, and won for Suneil Shetty his first ever Best Actor award, that too on an international platform. The Asian Premiere at the India International Film Festival in Goa saw it getting a standing ovation and critics lauding it...

RED ALERT-THE WAR WITHIN looks like it is culled straight from today's torrid headlines. The television media is fast picking up the film as a reference points in their popular debates...Ananth Mahadevan, the director has already appeared on the Barkha Dutt show... The Buck Stops Here and the Pankaj Pachouri show Hum Log... .In fact RED ALERT-THE WAR WITHIN, is the only example of an Indian film that has not used fabricated dialogue but quoted verbatim from volatile interviews culled from the internet.

RED ALERT-THE WAR WITHIN features national award winners and international stars like Naseeruddin Shah, Ashish Vidyarthi, Seema Biswas, Ayesha Dharker and Gulshan Grover. The cast is led by Suneil Shetty who plays the protagonist with Sameera Reddy, Bhagyashree, Vinod Khanna, Makrand Deshpande and Zakir Husain. This rare powerhouse ensemble is already the main attraction for both industry folk and the audience. Javed Akhtar has penned the theme for RED ALERT-THE WAR WITHIN, while Lalit Sen has composed the song. Monty scores the background music; Allan Amin is the stunt co-ordinator and K Rajkumar the director of photography.

Based on a true story, RED ALERT-THE WAR WITHIN is written by Aruna Raje. Produced by T P Agggarwal and Rahul Aggarwal, the film is slated for a June 25th release. Prominent distributors who are vying for the film have made one common observation..., "it's the next Bandit Queen"
