The theatrical trailer of Mani Ratnam's upcoming RAAVAN is being screened across most Big Cinema theaters showing KITES. Amidst superb response from the audience the one star that grabbed most eyeballs and had the audience zapped was not Aishwarya-Abhishek (taking nothing from their super act in the film) or even ex-comedy king Govinda. It was the South sensation in the real sense, superstar Vikram! His terrific overpowering personality, macho good looks well toned physique coupled with his intense expressions, dwarfed everyone in comparison and the audience was heard questioning during the interval about the second hero of RAAVAN, Vikram.

Though he was seen in the badly dubbed APARICHIT, most cinegoers in the Hindi belt may be unaware that Vikram is a huge star down South. A self made actor who really had to struggle very hard to make his mark and is a gift that maverick director Mani Ratnam is presenting to Bollywood and the Hindi film audience via RAAVAN.

However, despite being such a big star Vikram is very humble and quite nervous before his Bollywood launch. In a recent interview Vikram very honestly and humbly accepted that he is not very sure how the Hindi film audience will respond to his character, whether they will appreciate him or reject him out rightly! He added that only after seeing the response of the audience towards him in RAAVAN will he decide whether he wants to do more films in Bollywood.

Well, quite a contrast to those overconfident wannabe stars who think the world of themselves and feel that being a star in a regional cinema or television makes them as big a star in Bollywood as well.

Vikram need not fear, going by the response of the audience, his stunning Bollywood debut awaits him surely when RAAVAN hits the screens on June 21st.
