If our headlines are making you think that our stars are into heavy gambling and frequenting casinos, then you are mistaken. Well, they do indulge in a few rounds once in a while but that's about all.

Actually we want to bring your attention to the last three big Bollywood releases, HOUSEFULL, BADMAASH COMPANY and KITES (even Bachchan's recent release TEEN PATTI), all of which had casinos playing an important part in the narratives and scripts. Still confused?

To elaborate, the opening sequence of Sajid Khan's hit HOUSEFULL which established Akshay Kumar's character as a 'panauti'(unlucky) was at Macau's famous casino The Venetian. Even Lara Dutta and Ritiesh Deshmukh were shown to be workers at a London casino.

Cut to Parmeet Sethi's runaway success, BADMAASH COMPANY, once again it's the casinos of Las Vegas that Shahid Kapoor et al. frequent. Finally we have last Friday's big release, KITES where the whole film revolves around Las Vegas's Plaza casino. In fact so important is the Plaza casino in the script that inevitably the story returns to it multiple times and at very important junctures.

Well is Bollywood returning to its roots when in films like THE GREAT GAMBLER, KALA PATTHAR etc. casinos, gambling and poker were an integrals part of the script? As of now it appears so.
