There was a time when recluse was the word to describe Ajay Devgn. Labelled as a broody young man who reveled in his action roles film after film for the first decade of his career, Ajay Devgn has come a long way from his PHOOL AUR KAANTE, VIJAYPATH and HINDUSTAN KI KASAM days.
Not just has his choice of films become far more varied (a comedy in GOLMAAL series, a dramatic affair in ONCE UPON A TIME IN MUMBAAI and action fares like TEZ and AAKROSH), he is also seemingly turning out to be a far more approachable individual, a far cry from his earlier recluse days.
One wonders though whether this change has come only for Ajay - the actor or even Ajay - the person? In personal life, has a continued successful run contributed to him becoming far happier and open than before?
"There isn't anything like that", Ajay nods in disagreement here, "Even today I am the same person that I have been for all these years. You won't see me doing something outlandish or out of the ordinary just because my films have turned out to be successful in a back to back manner. It's just the visibility that has increased. My persona or intrinsic nature hasn't changed. I can't do that even if I try. I can't put a facade."
Still, though he was not known for being media savvy till about 4-5 years back, he suddenly seems to be all over. "Arrey, woh sab karna padta hai", he smiles, "Times have changed and one has to do a lot more promotion than what it used to be till few years ago. I had to adapt."
