One of the old projects of Sunny Deol is gearing up to hit the marquee. If all goes as per the plan, KHUDA KASAM (earlier titled THE CHALLENGE), which was started close to a decade ago and completed soon after, could well release this Friday.
Produced by Amit Kumar Bokadia and directed by veteran film maker K.C. Bokadia, KHUDA KASAM stars Sunny in the lead along with his MAA TUJHE SALAAM lady Tabu. Regulars from the past i.e. Farida Jalal and Ashish Vidyarthi appear in the film too while Mukesh Rishi and Govind Namdev complete the principal starcast. Aadesh Shrivastava provides the music.
Says an industry source, "Quite a lot of money has been spent on KHUDA KASAM. The production costs have swelled up to as much as 20 crore which is huge by all means. It is impossible for the film to get even a small percentage of money back if it is released in a haphazard manner like this."
People associated with the film can't do much either. KHUDA KASAM is one of those many films that Sunny had signed in the wake of success of GADAR - EK PREM KATHA. In the film, Sunny plays a Muslim character by the name of Hussain who is a truck driver by profession and gets caught in the web of deceit, conspiracy and back stabbing as he ends up being labeled as a terrorist.
The film's highlight is obviously Sunny who will be seen in the role of a truck driver again after GADAR - EK PREM KATHA. On the other hand, Ashish Vidyarthi plays the role of a Home Minister, Mukesh Rishi acts as a Jailor while Govind Namdev is a Police S P in KHUDA KASAM, hence forming a trio of villainous characters.
