Young Prateik Babbar had shone in a brief appearance in JAANE TU YA JAANE NAA but ever since then Bollywood has been waiting for the non-conformist leading man to surprise in a major way with his next big screen outing. Today with the promos of DHOBI GHAT being out, it seems that Aamir has won his trust and given him a good launch.
"Trust me, his character is so lovable that people are simply going to love him, He is so endearing", says Monica Dogra, Prateik's co-star in the film, "Other than Aamir, I do share a lot of screen time with Prateik as well. He is now a dear friend of mine."
"I play a modern and forward thinking woman who has stepped into Mumbai from abroad. She is caught between two different worlds and there is something really pure about her. Her story though is such that doesn't quite have a solution in number of ways. It isn't anything visible or easy to access. This girl isn't someone with whom you instantly fall in love with. It may even make a few uncomfortable. However, if that indeed happens then it means I have done a good job", she says.
With a question mark on our face, Monica giggles away, "I know that all of this sounds a little ambiguous but then I guess I should not be giving out much detail about my role or the film in itself. You should check it out yourself when it releases in theaters. Then you would be able to relate a lot more to what I am stating. "
Well, we have to trust you on that Monica. After all 'doing a good job' is the least expectation here. After all it isn't everyday (or shall we say, a decade) that Aamir launches a girl!
