Whether it is top composer like Pritam or the trio of Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, they don't seem to have many qualms around sharing credits with other composers in quite a few projects. On the other hand for Vishal-Shekhar, it has been a clear self-driven mandate that they won't feature in albums where there are other composers as well. In such a scenario, did they have issues with Shirish Kunder's title song for TEES MAAR KHAN making an appearance in the album? After all they are known for their 'exclusivity'.
"Yes, we have composed the entire album though Shirish has chipped in with a title track. But then we were okay with it," says Vishal with a straight face, "We have absolute faith in Farah and respect any decision that she makes in the favour of her film. Also, considering the fact that Shirish has written the story, one can't take away that passion which he carried for composing the title track. Having said that, let us also admit that we really enjoy this song quite a lot."
They know for sure though that roping in of an added composer in a film of theirs is an exception rather than a rule.
"See, our schedules are never so screwed up that we can't compose an entire album after we have committed to it," adds on Shekhar, "We put our heart and soul in any soundtrack and thankfully, as you can see the trend in our films, no producer had the need to actually go and find a guest composer. For us, when we pick up the music for a film, it has to be in entirety."
Next big soundtrack of Vishal-Shekhar would be Shahrukh Khan starrer RA. ONE.
