Kapoor household is brimming with joy. After a reasonable success that Ranbir saw with ANJAANA ANJAANI, his parents Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh have a reason to rejoice as well. Their DO DOONI CHAAR has seen massive appreciation coming their way and the film, which opened on (predictably) a low note, is seeing massive improvement in collections with every passing show.
"Leave aside the box office factor which definitely seeing a big improvement, the fact remains that the comeback of both the veteran actors has been accepted with open arms," says a senior member of the film fraternity, "For a film to make a mark without much promotion or publicity blitzkrieg is an achievement in itself. Also, despite the fact that the film doesn't have those so-called star attractions or any item numbers or sequences to boast of and DO DOONI CHAAR becomes even more special."
Such strong has been debutant writer-director Habib Faisal's hold on the medium that DO DOONI CHAAR is even being likened to Hrishikesh Mukherjee brand of cinema.
"I was always very proud of this film and knew that once it will arrive on screens, it will see great appreciation coming its way," says a beaming Rishi Kapoor who went all out for an entire fortnight leading to the release of the film and took it upon him personally to promote it, "Ours is a small gem of a film that deserved to get all the attention. Now that everyone is singing praises about the film, I can only feel further elated."
Well sir, the film deserves to. Here is wishing that the film finds greater visibility with every passing day and reaches out to a greater section of audience.
