From romancing with a much younger Rishi Kapoor three decades back, Neetu Singh is currently been seen as his screen wife in DO DOONI CHAAR. One wonders how different was the experience for her when she faced the camera with her much moved on-screen partner all over again.

'When I was acting with him earlier, I didn't realize that he was such a good actor. I wasn't concentrating on what he was doing because I was too young to realise what acting really was. Uss samay kuchh samajh nahi thi. Today I respect him a lot more because he brings so much to his role', says Neetu Singh.

On being asked to elaborate, she says, 'He improvises a lot and says his dialogues effortlessly. In fact I used to tell him during the shooting of DO DOONI CHAAR that he is really a marvellous actor. He would also help other people on the sets with their acts since he is the senior-most of the lot. I really appreciate him much more than before now.'

Meanwhile, appreciation has been coming in for her comeback effort as well, which by the way has turned out to be a relatively modest start. One wonders though if she would have preferred a full-on glam beginning in say, a Yash Chopra or a Karan Johar set up.

She laughs, 'I wanted to be seen as a character in my comeback film and in DO DOONI CHAAR, the part that I play is totally de-glam. It also made me play someone who is totally different from real life. The director was convinced that he wanted me to be seen in an attire that I have never been seen before. He gave me just a couple of 'salwar-kameez' and made me look like a quintessential Lajpat Nagar (Delhi) middle class woman. See, I am 52 years old and at this age I don't want to come across as a glam person.'
