Vipul Shah is one of the rare instances of a director trying out a different composer in each of his films and that too for six outings in a row. He has worked with Jatin Lalit/Aadesh Srivastava [AANKHEN], Anu Malik [WAQT], Himesh Reshammiya [NAMASTEY LONDON] and Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy [LONDON DREAMS] so far. For his upcoming release ACTION REPLAYY, he has Pritam on board.
While music of most of his films has been pretty successful, he hasn't stuck to a single composer ever. The trend continues with his next film (albeit as a producer), the Hindi version of KAKKA KAKKA. For this John Abraham starrer, Vipul has roped in Harris Jayaraj - the composer of the original Tamil version - as the man to do the job again. Harris is the same man whose tunes for Madhavan-Dia Mirza-Saif Ali Khan starrer REHNAA HAI TERRE DIL MEIN are played till date.
"Harris has done some excellent work in the original KAKKA KAKKA as well. Now he was keen to experiment with Hindi cinema as well. For my version, he is creating all new songs except for me. Still, since he understands the 'sur' of the film, I didn't want to disturb that. The way he has interpreted and understood the film, the music is turning out to be really well", informs Vipul.
With majority of top composers already been exhausted by Vipul, one wonders though who would step in for the next Vipul Shah outing? A.R. Rahman, Vishal-Shekhar, Sajid-Wajid, Salim-Sulaiman or someone else?
