Kangna Ranaut would be seen as a journalist covering a major crime scene in her upcoming release KNOCK OUT. While she is in the midst of all the action surrounding Sanjay Dutt and Irrfan Khan in this plot based film that unfolds over a span of few hours, it is also obvious that each of its principal characters wears the same outfit for most of the duration. While for leading men, all of this may still pass but for an actress, it is nothing less than sacrilege to see her wearing the same outfit for the entire length of the film.
"Ask me", sighs Kangna, "The entire look that I carry in KNOCK OUT is so different from that of my last release ONCE UPON A TIME IN MUMBAAI. In that film, I was playing this 70s diva who gets to dress up in these amazing clothes, hairstyles and stuff alike! Out here, poor me is seen in only one outfit, hairstyle and look throughout the film."
To her relief though, she (obviously) had six samples of the same outfit created for her so that she could change in and out at frequent intervals to retain a fresh appeal.
"Thank God for small mercies", smiles Kangna, "My designer Rick Roy was kind enough to get half a dozen outfits stitched. Still, wearing same kind of clothes for as many as 45 days is nothing short of an ordeal. It did become a too much by the end! We actresses are used to try out multiple outfits in the course of the same day. However in case of KNOCK OUT, it seemed like I was wearing a uniform day in and night out. Some experience it was for sure!"
One just hopes now that audience don't mind this experimental experience!
