Expect Ram Gopal Varma to throw shockers at an alarming pace. Even as the first part of his ambitious project RAKHT CHARITRA is up for release this Friday, he is happy to be staying on at his animated best and making statements that are not just entertaining but also thought provoking.
On being asked that what was the driving factor behind making RAKHT CHARITRA in two parts, he declares in his characteristic tone that he wanted to project both sides of the coins rather than taking a one-dimensional view of the lives of his protagonists.
"When you make a film on Gandhi, you have to tell a story which is all about good. In Gandhi's film, you don't expect to hear Godse's side of the story since he doesn't feature there. However, if you make a film about Godse's life, you may hear an altogether different point of view", says Ramu who details the rivalry of Paritala Ravi (Vivek Oberoi) and Suryanarayan Reddy (Suriya) in RAKHTA CHARITRA.
"When Ravi gets killed, you want to know the story of the man who killed him. What was his background, what forced him to take this drastic step, what was the driving force behind his act, was it really justified enough? There are so many questions to be asked and you can have them all answered only if you hear both sides of the story. Hence the reason behind two parts of the film", details Ramu.
Really Ramu, we are convinced. Now we want to see the story unfold convincingly as well!
