The opening of Sanjay Dutt's KNOCK OUT and Ajay Devgn's AAKROSH was a big setback for all concerned, While neither of the two could set the box-office on fire (as we had hinted in our box office report), it turned out to be a totally one sided battle with Kumar Mangat's AAKROSH beating Sohail Maklai's KNOCK OUT by 3:1, as far as the opening weekend collections go. Trade holds some hope for AAKROSH but KNOCK OUT has more or less been declared a disaster, keeping in mind it's unusually high budget of 27 -28 crore. Both the films have also been rejected in the Overseas though once again AAKROSH managed to upstage KNOCK OUT by grossing £29,440 as opposed to a negligible £8,115 for KNOCK OUT, during the opening weekend (15-17 October). The third release of the same week, the animated RAMAYANA - THE EPIC, was taken off at many places mid-week but will expectedly score in the DVD circuit.
