It's all in the family for Abbas Tyrewala and his pretty wife Pakhi. Their JHOOTHA HI SAHI is largely an in-house affair with Pakhi doubling up as a script writer and leading lady while Abbas is responsible for the film's screenplay, lyrics and of course direction.
"Now that's not fair", says Pakhi with mock annoyance, "Come on, you ask anyone from the team of JHOOTHA HI SAHI and they would proudly tell you that we have made this film together rather than it being an individual effort. Everyone is owning up this film together, no one can be heard saying ki yeh teri galti hai ya meri galti hai. "
While the effort in the background would be known mainly to the makers, what is visible is the look of the film, particularly the art direction that clearly emphasizes on the real feel of the overall setting.
"Full marks to the art department here", says Pakhi, "The way Sid's house is designed, it appears like a typical bachelor's pad. In fact I remember bringing used couches rather than ordered new, fresh and sealed ones to bring on further authenticity. Nothing in the film could afford to look like being 'made up'."
In fact the makers have recently also distributed T-Shirts to all cast and crew members that says - 'I made JHOOTHA HI SAHI.
"Well, that's a small way of us further reiterating the sense of belongingness and togetherness within the team of JHOOTHA HI SAHI", reasons Pakhi.
