Visitors to MAMI's 12th Annual Film Festival have a special treat in store with PVR Pictures' forthcoming release RED (Retired, Extremely Dangerous) selected as the film to close the prestigious week-long festival.
RED, a film that boasts a dream cast of A-list academy award winning stars like Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman, Helen Mirren and John Malkovich, has opened to rave reviews and a great opening in the US, the film is scheduled to hit theatres in India on November 12, 2010.
Commenting on the selection, Kamal Gianchandani, President, PVR Pictures stated, "It is PVR Pictures constant endeavor to bring international blockbusters and entertaining films like RED to Indian theatre going audiences. I feel honored that this film has been chosen as the closing film at MAMI's 12th Annual Mumbai Film Festival which showcases the best in Indian as well as international cinema "
The film is based on the D.C. Comics graphic novel by Warren Ellis and Cully Hammer.
