JHOOTHA HI SAHI hasn't set the box office on fire. However, John Abraham has come in for much appreciation from all quarters.
"Keeping aside AASHAYEIN' which was a four year old release, John's last two films - NEW YORK and DOSTANA - were hits. Again, John was appreciated in both the films as well", says a trade observer, "Many asked John if he believed that JHOOTHA HI SAHI was the most important film of his career since it was a solo release. However, right from the days of JISM (in which he made his debut) till JHOOTHA HI SAHI, he has treated each of his films as being the most important. He has given them all with special care, whether it is a multi-starrer or a solo release."
For John, the promotion of JHOOTHA HI SAHI too turned out to be special because he was shouldering it more or less alone. Though he is reluctant to talk about the hard work that went into the marketing, promotion and release of the film, all he is willing to comment is, "JHOOTHA HI SAHI is my film and I am proud of it. I did everything that an actor is required to do to make his film reach out to the audience."
Continues the trade observer, "Look at the last two months gone by; John was all over. Madhu (Mantena) had to take care of JHOOTHA HI SAHI as well as RAKHT CHARITRA since he is the producer of both the films. Pakhi was new and had to earn visibility for herself. Abbas (Tyrewala) was travelling all over the globe with A. R. Rahman to get the background score in place. It was John who took the onus on him to get the film eyeballs. Let's give him credit for that."
Now that the film is behind with, what with close to a couple of years being spent on it, John can well be expected to move on. Currently busy with the shoot of Hindi remake of KAKKA KAKKA, he would soon be beginning work on DESI BOYZ with Akshay Kumar.
