SAHIB BIWI AUR GANGSTER has been touted as a remake of the cult classic SAHIB BIWI AUR GHULAM and with this film Deepal Shaw is graduating into more 'performance oriented' roles like also seen in her previous films like KALYUG & A WEDNESDAY for which she got critical acclaim.
She is very excited about being offered a key role in Tigmanshu Dhulia's SAHIB BIWI AUR GANGSTER, she says, 'I am very happy to work with Tigmanshu sir as I always wanted to work with him and it's a great role and this film will definitely add to my progress chart.'
Talking about her character, Deepal says, 'I'm playing a very vibrant, confident and colourful girl, quite in love with the Gangster (played by Randeep Hooda). I can't divulge more than this because we still have a month to go and we'll be undergoing workshops to polish up our acts. There's a lot of scope to perform.'
But isn't it a risk casting a fresher face in a key role, which sources reveal is on the lines of Waheeda Rehman's character, than the more established ones. Promptly says the Director, 'I have seen Deepal in her earlier films, I found her to be effortless and very fluent with the Hindi language and a very dedicated girl, unfortunately she hasn't been given her due - iss ladki mein bahut dum hai. Since I'm also producing the film, I have no pressure from any big bosses about casting tried and tested actors; I'm my own boss now.'
Well then here's wishing Deepal all the success and a very pleasant career ahead.'
