With RAKHT CHARITRA, Ram Gopal Varma has not just won the hearts of many of his fans and followers all over again, he has also found new admirers from within the film fraternity. One such new entrant is Tamil superstar Suriya who has worked with Ramu for the first time in the RAKHT CHARITRA, part two of which releases on 19th November.
"Ramu's clarity around the subject and how he wanted to execute it amazed me," says Suriya who is seeing his big Bollywood debut with RAKHT CHARITRA, "All through these 30 days of shooting that I did with Ramu, I never saw him loose his cool even once. He actually works without any kind of emotion. The way he sets up the scene, the shot transition, the way camera focus changes, the zoom ins, lights and all - everything is so much well worked out in his mind itself."
No wonder, Suriya is happy that after gaining much fame and acclaim in his films down South - GHAJINI, KAKKA KAKKA and most recently SINGHAM, he has now managed to work in a Hindi film with Ramu.
"I have closely observed how he directs his actors. For some of them, it could be a new outing altogether. Still, the way he makes he makes even non-actors perform in front of the camera is superb. Even with me, if there was a particular frame that was not to his liking, he would politely say that let's do it again and then get back to business. He works very hard on each and every frame and this is the reason why RAKHT CHARITRA is having a very different visual appeal. He has done a fantastic job and come up with an effort which is a mix of some of his best work like COMPANY and SATYA.
Coming from an actor who has played a lead in around 25 films, this indeed is a compliment that Ramu would relish.
