BFI (British Film Institute) London Film Festival, UK'S largest public film event, scheduled for October 13th - 28th, in its 54th year will showcase UTV Motion Pictures' UDAAN and the soon-to-be-releasing PAAN SINGH TOMAR. UDAAN will be showcased in the UK market for the first time post its worldwide release on July 16, whereas, PAAN SINGH TOMAR, will have its world premier at this festival.
Directed by Vikramaditya Motwane and co-produced by Sanjay Singh, Anurag Kashyap (director of blockbuster film, DEV D), and UTV Motion Pictures, UDAAN received fantastic response from critics and masses worldwide. The film has its music directed by Amit Trivedi. Whereas, PAAN SINGH TOMAR directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia and produced by UTV Motion Pictures stars the multiple award winner Irrfan Khan essaying the role of a real-life Rajput runner in the film.
Other Indian films which were showcased at the festival included - Autumn (Harud), directed by Aamir Bashir; I AM KALAM, a children's film directed by Nila Madhad Panda; I AM, SINDHUTAI SAPKAL (MEE SINDHUTAI SAPKAL), directed by Ananth Mahadevan, and JUST ANOTHER LOVE STORY (Aarekti Premer Golpo) directed Kaushik Ganguly
Speaking on this occasion, Amrita Pandey, Senior Vice President- International Distribution and Syndication, Motion Pictures - UTV, said, "It's a very proud moment for us to have two of our films out of the seven Indian films will be showcased at the most prestigious film festival in the UK this time. Our films have been doing well with the audiences at large, where London as a market has always been extremely encouraging, considering the strong and passionate movie watching crowd who are popularly known to appreciate good cinema."
Also commenting on this occasion, Vikramaditya Motwane, Director- UDAAN, said, "UDAAN has had a fantastic response worldwide and now with the film being premiered at the most prestigious film festival in UK, we are confident everyone here will love the film and appreciate it thoroughly.

UDAAN was officially selected to compete in the Un Certain Regard (A Certain Look) category at the 2010 Cannes Film Festival and was the first Indian film to be part of Cannes's official section in seven years. The film also won awards at one of world's largest children's film festivals, Giffoni Film Festival in Italy, namely, the Audience Award and Best Music Score.
