She was one of the first few original item girls in Bollywood as she sizzled on screen with 'Khullam Khulla' [ROAD]. She had a small role in MUSAFIR as well but what is remembered most is her item number 'O Saaki Re'. This is not all as her 'Dil Mein Baji Guitar' [APNA SAPNA MONEY MONEY] is being played on music channels till date.
Now even though she has refrained from picking up item numbers for Bollywood films and has been busy making inroads into Hollywood, Koena insists that she is not leaving behind her roots. Also, she is open to doing an item number if the setting is A grade and gives her ample scope to sizzle with the right aesthetics in place.
"Really, I don't mind doing an item number if the director presents me well. He should not waste me at all because I am selective when it comes to my on screen appearance", smiles Koena who has some big announcements ready to be made even as she looks forward to her new innings in Bollywood, "Also, the song has to be superb as well. If the song is good, you can perform well. Otherwise howsoever hard an artist may try, if a song isn't great, you can't do complete justice."
Koena confirms that there is no dearth of offers that she gets for item songs in films.
"They keep coming by. However, I look for this combination of great song and director. Only if I have 100% trust that these four minutes on screen would really be worth it, I would go for it. I need someone who can shoot me like a dream. Anyone there", winks Koena before signing off.
