Here is one young film maker bubbling with enthusiasm even as his film has been delayed by a week. With all the hard work being done and now a comparatively easy week ahead with ANJAANA ANJAANI all set to release on 1st October, Siddharth can afford to rest and reflect on the time period that went into the making of this Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra starrer.
"This is the most aesthetically correct film that I have shot ever since SALAAM NAMASTE", says Siddharth who has earlier directed BACHNA AE HASEENO and TA RA RUM PUM, "Barring SALAAM NAMASTE, there are some scenes in each of my films where I have added something just from the commerce perspective. I made a conscious effort to win over the masses and hence included some emotions because such things work in commercial cinema." However, when it came to ANJAANA ANJAANI, he just concentrated on getting the aesthetics right along with the right flow and mood of the story without thinking too much about peripheral parameters.
"This is the reason why I believe that this is my most honest effort after SALAAM NAMASTE", he adds, "I think I am being true to the audience and am not lying to them. I don't want them to expect a funny 'dhamaal' romcom or anything."
Sajid Nadiadwala, the producer of the film, concurs as well, "My only requirement was that that he goes ahead and makes the film exactly as he had envisioned. Now we have a love story with a solid story, terrific music and a great range of emotions and drama. Siddharth's idea was to make a hardcore love story and I was happy too because the fact remains that that we haven't seen something like that for ages."
