If sources close to Ajay Devgn's upcoming dramatic thriller AAKROSH are to be believed, the film is not just about honour killing. It also has a Naxal angle to it, something that the makers are waiting to be revealed once the film hits the screens.
"That's right," says a source on condition of anonymity, "The backdrop of the film is about honour killing where two honest officers visit a town and solve a case about a young couple's murder. However, in the process of this story being told, there is an angle of current Naxal issue also which is touched upon."
If the makers are refraining from publicising this fact, it comes with the right reasoning. After all around the release of RAAVAN too there were bits and pieces thrown around Naxalites. However, the half baked treatment of the plot meant that the angle was totally lost. No wonder, AAKROSH - which is finding eye balls for all the right reasons - doesn't really wish to make much ado about this issue and is primarily concentrating on the honour killing episodes.
When enquired, this is what producer Kumar Mangat had to say, "I don't know what kind of stories are floating around and what some people are saying about the film. For us, AAKROSH is first and foremost an out and out drama with a strong thriller element to it. The film starts and ends with the issue of honour killing. The culprits get punished and the message is conveyed that there is nothing bigger than law."
