Urvashi Sharma is one happy girl out there. She was one of the bright spots of KHATTA MEETHA where she made much more than just her presence felt despite Trisha being the leading lady of the film. Now even though she awaits her next quintessential leading lady role in 2011, there is something for her to cheer about before the end of the current year. She would be seen in a special song and dance appearance in AAKROSH which, in her own words, is not 'an item song' but a situational track that takes the narrative forward.
"Sasural Munia is a fun celebration track in an otherwise serious dramatic affair like AAKROSH,” says Urvashi who is keenly awaiting the release of the song on the small screen before the world watches it on the big screen once the film arrives in theaters, "It is pretty much on the same lines as Tabu's DHOL BAJNE LAGA from Priyadarshan's own VIRASAT."
Seems like 'desi' numbers are pretty much back in vogue. While Malaika Arora's Munni Badnaam continues to play till date, it could well make way for Sasural Munia which has a far more innocent and simple appeal to it. A celebration track about a group of friends having fun with the bride-to-be and preparing her for what lies ahead in life, this Shreya Ghoshal sung number sees Urvashi in a different light altogether.
"Yes, this is for the first time that I would be seen in a 'ghaghra-choli'. I had some real good fun shooting for the song, more so because it is such an integral part of the film. Otherwise typically when a song is just placed in the film for an item appearance, it sometimes stands out like a sore thumb. Thankfully, this is not the case in Sasural Munia", says Urvashi who had made her debut in the thriller NAQAAB.
