This has to go down as one of the unlikeliest combinations that could ever have been expected. Producer Sanjay Gupta and composer Vishal Bhardwaj joining hands for a film (MILTE HAIN) is pretty much akin to the adage of chalk and cheese coming together. Also, it is an exception for Vishal Bhardwaj in particular since he is composing for a film which is not being directed by him.
VISHAL BHARDWAJ and SANJAY GUPTA
Confirms Sanjay, "Yes, Vishal is already on board for MILTE HAIN. It is a huge thing for me for two reasons. Firstly, I have been a huge fan of Vishal's music right from the time he started composing. Everyone acknowledges and appreciates his score in MAACHIS but I have followed everything that he has composed, including the much under rated BETAABI. I think it had some fantastic songs."
Citing the second reason, an elated Sanjay continues, "Ever since Vishal turned a full time director with MAQBOOL, he put brakes on composing music for films made by others. His songs in OMKARA, BLUE UMBRELLA, KAMINEY and ISHQIYA only made me pine to work with him for a film of mine."
Sanjay's reasoning does come with a strong backing. With an exception of a U ME AUR HUM or a NO SMOKING, Vishal hasn't composed a full blown album for an outside director for long. Also, for Sanjay too it is a first in a very long when a film of his would have a solitary composer.
"Pick any 'White Feather' (his production house) film; be it ACID FACTORY, DUS KAHANIYAAN, ZINDA, MUSAFIR or KAANTE, and you would always see multiple composers chipping in. I have liked working that way as I get songs from all moods. However, in case of Vishal I am happy with an exception. After all the man can create songs for all moods on one go. I can't wait to hear what he makes for MILTE HAIN", he smiles.
