There aren't many who get second chances but Mahakshay Chakraborty (earlier known as Mimoh) and Shraddha Kapoor are the lucky ones. After their first two films turned out to be box office disasters, they are now hoping that with HAUNTED and LUV KA THE END respectively, they too could turn lucky with their second outings.
"For Mahakshay as well as Shraddha, it was the worst start ever that they would have imagined in Bollywood. Their JIMMY and TEEN PATTI respectively were pathetic attempt at filmmaking and they were two of the most unquestionable failures of the years when they were released," says a trade veteran.
LUV KA THE END and HAUNTED
Though Shraddha still saw some good reviews coming her way for her performance, Mahakshay wasn't as lucky with the industry in general declaring him as finished. This is where filmmakers as diverse as Vikram Bhatt and Aditya Chopra came into picture and lent their support to the newcomers.
"Mahakshay had a couple of other films in the pipeline but once Vikram, who has a knack for making films with newcomers, came into picture with HAUNTED, his sole concentration was on this horror musical," adds an industry source, "Similarly Shraddha too shrugged away various proposals coming her way once things started falling in place with Chopra's LUV KA THE END."
Call it coincidence but destiny of these star-kids seems to be intertwined. Their LUV KA THE END and HAUNTED are all set to be released on the same day i.e. 6th May.
