A small time film with largely unknown actors and an absolutely new team of makers has managed to create a frenzy of sorts on social networking sites. Called PYAAR KA PUNCHNAMA, the film is fast finding attention for itself with the youth segment patronising it in a big way and taking it upon itself to promote the film.
"The makers have released two promos of the film, one which is censored with beeps hiding a few naughty words and another which is uncensored. Obviously the uncensored version is a rage on internet," informs a trade source, "Youth is loving the film and referring it to their friend's circle. The marketing and promotional strategy applied by the makers is pretty revolutionary here since at no cost, they are getting adequate eyeballs for this sex comedy."
With an all new cast made of young actors (Kartikeya Tiwari, Rayo Bhakirta, Divyendu Sharma, Sonali Sehgal, Nushrat Bharucha, Ishita Sharma), PYAAR KA PUNCHNAMA is about three jilted lovers who are not getting their share of 'action'. Frustrated, they get into a pact where they want to teach girls a lesson.
"To think about it, the film is yet to see formal promotion building for itself through conventional means like satellite channels or TV/radio/print interviews," continues the trade source, "Still, it's the freshness of the promo coupled with witty one liners as well as situations that youngsters can relate with which is helping the film find a healthy platform for itself. The promo has made an impact; now it is up to the makers whether they have indeed made the whole film as exciting."
Considering the success of smaller affairs like TANU WEDS MANU, BAND BAAJA BAARAAT, TERE BIN LADEN and LOVE SEX AUR DHOKHA in the past, one truly wishes it is indeed the case!
