Mahakshay Chabraborty (aka Mimoh) is candid enough to admit that he had no one else but himself to be blamed for the false start he got with JIMMY. The film released three years ago and now he is getting a re-launch of sorts with Vikram Bhatt's HAUNTED 3D.
"Failure of JIMMY was a wake up call", Mahakshay is honest in his very opening statement, "Jo bakwaas se bhi zyaada badttar hota hai, main woh tha. Aisa thode hi hota hai. I was completely immature and had no merit to be in the industry."
While he can lift himself up to say this today, one can well imagine him to have gone through some tough times over last three years with all the criticism coming his way, especially so since he has Mithun Chakraborty as father.
"Did you just say 'tough times'? Then well that's an understatement actually", he says animatedly, "After JIMMY I was banned by the critics. People commented that I wasn't even fitting enough to be a junior artist. I was sitting at home doing nothing. I was angry, sad and struggling to get a hold on my life. It is not just tough, it is terrible."
It wasn't an easy journey for Mahakshay even then since no one was ready to touch him with even a barge pole because of a bad debut.
"All that the makers said was 'Haan theek hai, leave your pictures and we will see what can be done", remembers Mahakshay, "Thankfully Viki Sir (Vikram Bhatt) meant it when he said the same. He called me back on the same day when I had first met him and confirmed that I was on for HAUNTED 3D. This was the day when I really smiled again."
Hope audience can say the same as well Jimmy, oops Mahakshay, when they see your film!
