Makers of JOKER are turning more and more ambitious as the shooting of the film progresses. A major portion of this fantasy film requires a forest setting to it. However unlike many film makers who choose to scout for real locations when it comes to shooting in forests, Shirish Kunder is having different plans. For his big budgeted 3D tale, a set of a forest is being built in Mumbai.
"If the film would have been shot in a real location, the cost may not have been so high. However Shirish wasn't happy with a real forest since he wants to build a fantastical world for JOKER. Also, since the film is being made in 3D, there are lot of touch ups required for various shots in the film, something that would have been possible only if the forest was customised as per the scene's requirement", informs a senior member from the film's technical crew.
All of this means that as much as 3 crores is being spent on this single set being created for JOKER. The man in-charge is Samir Chanda for whom the brief is to make the forest resemble the kind of world which was seen in ALICE IN WONDERLAND.
When contacted, Shirish did confirm that the set is indeed going to cost him 3 crores. "It should all be worth it though. Reason being that we need a huge space to shoot some of the most critical scenes in the film. It wouldn't have been possible had we shot in a real forest."
